I wanted to cc y'all on a note I just sent to someone who felt, shall we say, slighted by EH and emailed me to try to intercede. I'm not putting names, but you might be able to figure it out. Basically- just wanted to post it so none of my words could be used against me, somehow, to get me more involved. Please don't use this as an opportunity to flame someone who already feels hurt. "This is a moment in time- let it pass." (Something my super-groovy substitute says to students when they're upset.)

Honestly, I am still a bit aghast (mostly in a good way) at where EH ended up, size & scope-wise. As I say below, I really can't get more involved than I already am by posting this.

Is it true that you just joined Tribe in Feburary? How did you manage to get into the middle of such net-politics so quickly, I wonder?

Honestly (no pun intended) I backed away slowly from the Extreme Honesty tribe a few years ago when it had already become a larger-than-life can of worms. It had grown far beyond my intentions for it (which had been quite minimal) and become a place I personally was enjoying less and less. I saw that others seemed to be getting quite a bit out of it still, and so found someone I trusted to take over so that my leaving didn't kill it. I occasionally look over there and find a discussion of interest, but as a new mom and elementary school teacher, I'm already living 3 and a half lives full, and don't have time or energy to get involved. Sorry- that's just where I'm at right now.

I always hated cliques in high school, and I'm sad to see that you feel like that's the dominating paradigm over there.
