Okay, so I've had a *crush* on my biology prof all semester. At times it seemed reciprocal, but he's a genuinely sweet, charming and incredibly funny man so it was impossible to really tell if the vibe I was receiving was the same vibe he was sending.
Anyway, I waited out the 16 weeks til the semester was over and went ahead and emailed him asking if we could meet sometime for coffee/tea/lunch/cocktails, now that I'm no longer his student and he's no longer my prof. I hit the send button and of course immediately regretted it.
But lo and behold, 2 days later, he replied with a YES.
He wrote:
"I dig the interest. Very brave and open of you. I like that.
I'm off to california to visit family and warm up a bit.
I'll call you when I get back (around the new year) so we can arrange a date.
Maybe some pizza and chatting to break the ice?"
I am currently on cloud 5 1/2. Will know more once we meet in person.
Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abrazos: Spanish for hugs. Used as an alternative to besos. -

Sorry. It's just...well I've always wanted to have a stalker, you know?
I dunno, my mom says it'll happen when the time is right but it's been almost 31 years now and no stalker. I'm sure it's something I'm doing or not doing, but I just can't figure it out. Maybe I should start teaching college. -

p.s. Is there anyone here familiar with stalking protocol? What do I do first? Send him some sort of wedding announcement (for our future wedding) or do I pretend to play it cool and just show up outside of his office every day? -

Well, you could show up in California, and somehow accidentally bump into him. Now, that would get his attention.

Re: More "brawl" than brains?
Wed, December 24, 2008 - 2:40 PMWell, what I typically do is butter myself up and then wait outside their house naked in the bushes, reading comic books. When they come out, I hide, so they don't see me. But then I leave a buttery Spider-Man on their stoop as I fade into the shadows.
I mean...that's what I'd do if I were a stalker. -

Re: More "brawl" than brains?
Sun, December 28, 2008 - 9:58 PMWell, crap! And a small "yay" as well.
Professor yummy emailed me earlier today to let me know that a woman he's been crushing on for a while has finally shown some interest and that he feels he needs to pursue this and see where it takes them. He was very sweet, direct and honest about this and stated that he found me to be a "sexy, smart and independent woman" and that he'd love the chance to get to know me better, but that he feels he must "focus" on this other potential right now.
But the small "yay" I'm feeling is simply due to him being so direct and honest about this. I admire him even more because of it, but my excitement and anticipation has obviously been deflated. Oh well. The heart wants what it wants and I would be disappointed if he didn't pursue this given that he's apparently pretty excited.

Re: More "brawl" than brains?
Mon, December 29, 2008 - 2:38 AMok - i am going to be an "ass" - apologies in advance.
im willing to bet that prof-yummy was just recently "able" to focus on this other gal by "using" the fact that he could say that he "has a cute coed who JUST showed an interest" in him after his latest class... just sayin - that if _I_ were a "player", then itd be truly handy to have this "fact" in hand.
beware - im not sure you will like what you find underneath - assuming sometime in the future that he suddenly gets "freed up"... and yes, i assume-the-worst while hoping-for-the-best... good luck, h. -

Re: More "brawl" than brains?
Mon, December 29, 2008 - 11:02 AMit's sucky that he decided to pursue someone else after getting you so excited, but good that he's doing what makes him happy.
maybe you and i can have a disappointment party or something. i had the same thing happen to me this week. spent three days madly texting/emailing/IMing someone i was really starting to like, and *boom* back together with his ex-girlfriend, and crashing halt to all our fun.
i did stomp my feet a little - totally in private; i guess that's okay :o) - but then i smiled and wished him well. whatcha gonna do? -

Re: More "brawl" than brains?
Thu, January 1, 2009 - 2:06 PMwell, IMO you absolutely have to stalk him now -- he's just rejected you!! he's begging for it! and get rid of that other woman while you're at it, in fact I think that's the first step. -

Re: More "brawl" than brains?
Sun, January 4, 2009 - 2:00 PMdoes he have a bunny?
since you're a chef, i'm sure you have a pot big enough to accomodate one.

Definitely time to start putting dead animals in his mailbox.
However! Everybody knows you don't try to kill his girlfriend until they go on a romantic getaway at his lake cabin. Come on, people. This is Stalker 101 type shit we're talking here.
