If you don't like what people have to say then don't post here in the first place. Deleting threads is bullshit. Once you have posted a topic and other people have responded then it is a conversation that belongs to us all and deleting it is pure selfishness.
I shouldn't even have to say this after all this time. Geesh!

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 10:08 AMI can't think of a reason one should be able to change the record. I wonder why they other than for mods even put the feature in. -

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 10:19 AMI can think of a couple of reasons why it would be OK but those are only extreme situations. Certainly this situation was not one of them. -

But if someone does find the fallen trunk because they got all drunk and went to pee and then fell over it in the middle of the night, then do they make a sound when they stumble over it?

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 1:56 PMI would lose no sleep if deleters were simply nuked. By allowing the deleting of threads I can see a potential chill on responding. I think if someone is a known deleter who has not been booted it would be great if folks would point that out so we don't waste time on threads. Perhaps the peer pressure will stop the behavior

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 1:57 PMI missed it. What was deleted and by who? Whoever it was, please explain yourself (privately if you'd like). I will detlet people who delete threads more then once unless there are damn good reasons. Its WORSE if you delete after others post. -

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:09 PMThe thread was concerning a Husband not properly worshiping his wife for mother's day. She felt entitled to be treated like some sort of goddess because she bred and wanted us to tell her how awful her man was for not properly paying his respects to her.
She didn't get the answer she wanted so it appears she nuked the thread after about 10 responses.
people.tribe.net/lollicupgirl
That would be the perpetrator.

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:15 PMwell, now, jsin, that's not entirely fair. some of us did tell her her man was awful, but she really didn't want to hear that either. not sure what she wanted to hear, but her venting was not as well-received as she would have liked, perhaps. -

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:27 PMYeah that is true. It was a bit of a split decision. It actually could have developed into an interesting discussion concerning the need to remember or observe dates, getting relationships in shape before breeding, communication, fair fighting techs. Lots of ways to go ... But through the selfishness of the OP. those ops are gone.

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:36 PMI think even those of us who sympathized with some of what she experienced were still not willing to give her the coddling she was seeking. The fact of the matter is not everyone gives a whoohaa about days like Mother's Day or Valentines (personally I can't stand valentine's day). Still it is obvious from this recent post as well as past posts that she has some relationship issues that she and her partner need to figure out. I think hearing that it was not just his fault and she had some responsibility and that it was probably going to affect her daughter if they didn't work their shit out is what upset her. Some of us said it bluntly and some of us said it delicately. Either way the message was the same and she got a lot of pretty good feedback if she actually cared to listen. -

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 5:48 PMI know she had been warned before of this when she deleted a thread.... oh about a year or so perhaps. I recall there being a thread about deleting threads in pretty much the same scenario.
Too bad, but I shan't be wasting my time on any of the OP's threads anymore.

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 8:05 PMI can see why she would be embarrassed once called out, but overall, the thread had some good feedback. Very lame to delete our contributions!
What I can't believe is that she didn't realize that she was acting childish as was her spouse. Maybe she did and she needed some form of internet chastising to feel like she had atonement. Either way, it's sad to be so very dysfunctional and not be able to face yourself.

I agree. Only in the most extreme of circumstances should a thread get deleted once it has been responded to.. and people should consider that before posting. .

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 10:08 AMPerhaps one of us could post a warning for those who might not know she is prone to delete threads not to her liking, if she posts again here. That is assuming that Rich does not remove her from EH. -

Re: Stop deleting threads!
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 10:11 AMYeah, I definitely think we should do that so none of us waste our time anymore.
